Cooking With Your Kids Helps Develop Motor Skills for Preschoolers

 by: Laura Bankston

Did you know that cooking with your kids is a natural way for them to develop motor skills? If you’ve never looked at cooking that way before, think again. There’s a reason why kids have a universal love for cooking - just like for stacking blocks and banging!

Cooking is especially good for preschoolers and here’s how:

All right! Can you discover an improvement to your awareness on working with teens? I’m dead sure, you must have felt it.

The different write-ups onfamily , may of great use for you. We promise you that the resources could be available at the finish.

1. Two year olds are developing large muscles in their arms: They will enjoy stirring and stirring and stirring :-) . My two year old is always asking to stir; and her subconscious knows why! At 2 years old, a child naturally imitates circular strokes as part of their normal physical development. So, let them stir at every opportunity.

Oh yes! The following lines would be an added advantage. Keep reading, you’ll gain some additional awareness.

Here are some ways to encourage arm muscle development through cooking:
  • stirring: flour, eggs, pancake batter, gelatin making, etc.
  • scrubbing potatoes and vegetables
  • cleaning the cutting board: Give them a washcloth and some lukewarm water with the cutting board in the sink. They’ll have a blast rubbing the wet washcloth up and down the cutting board to clean it.
  • pouring from large measuring cups into a bowl

2. Two year olds are developing the ability to turn pages: Another motor skill developed during the preschool age is the ability to turn pages.

So - just pondering here…is it the story they love so much or just turning the pages of the book? Well, actually both. They need the motor development of turning the pages; and the pictures and vocabulary improve their intellectual development.

3. Two year olds love “patting” and “pressing”: From being fascinated with “patty-cake” chants at an early age, preschooler’s still love to pat and press.

I’m sure you’ll recognize your preschooler doing this at the park: scooping up rocks or sand, piling them up, and patting the top into different shapes.

Well, here’s some suggestions to bring the “patting” inside:

  • packing down brown sugar in the measuring cup
  • gently pressing a fork on top of peanut butter cookie dough on the cookie sheet
  • patting to level off the top of a cup of sugar
  • patting and pressing on pizza dough
  • pressing down with a cookie cutter on rolled sugar cookie dough

4. Two year olds love to dip - and this develops arm muscles skills too!: it takes a lot of coordination to dip! Getting the food in the dip, then moving the arm and somehow getting it into your mouth. If it wasn’t difficult, they wouldn’t get food all over their face! :-)

So, unless your 2 year old always has a clean face when he or she is done eating, here’s some dipping opportunities:

  • carrots in salad dressing
  • french fries in catsup
  • dipping a spoon in the emptied batter bowl to clean out the goodies :-)
  • dipping fruit in a fruit dip or chocolate (like frozen bananas or strawberries)
  • dipping chicken or fish in a batter for you to cook
  • dipping the bread in French toast mix

So, instead of “shooing” your preschoolers and 2 year olds out of the kitchen, let them dive in with these simple tasks that not only give them great pleasure, but help them develop their age appropriate motor skills.

All right! Was the data till now according to your demands? I hope it was.

We have additional articles on family if you desire to skim. Continue your exploration to comprehend more as towards the close you’ll receive additional materials on family.

Your beagling for the dope on Sex the Ring & the Eucharist would sate with this ballyhoo. You will notice some provocative minutiae on religion here. They can alter your concept.

Let’s ween if you scan the entire write-up it has certain important facts for you to select. Review it for yourself.

THE FATE OF PUBLIC ENEMY NUMBER ONE
We live in a world of patterns. But, according to science, patterns are unlikely. Any patterns that do occur are described as chance events that become quickly reabsorbed into a pervading trend towards formlessness or featurelessness. You can test this easily. Take several coins and pile them up, one on top of the other, on the palm of your hand. You will observe a ‘cylinder’ of coins - a recognizable pattern. Now toss them on the ground. If three or four of those coins wound up in a pattern you would be surprised. If you tossed the coins again and they fell into the same pattern you would be completely flabbergasted. What generally happens, of course, is that the coins wind up in a scattered arrangement on the ground. All of the natural forces identified by science, except one, lead to randomness. The exception is gravity, which leads to the simple spherical shapes of planets and stars. But even the stars and planets are scattered across the heavens. If there are any patterns, these have occurred by chance and will not last. But gravity cannot account for all the complex patterns and structures that repeat everywhere you look. Here on earth there are people, animals, plants, fish, birds, reptiles, insects. There are any number of repeating patterns of behaviour. Why? .
Science and logic attempt to explain the existence of patterns and structures by saying that chance is responsible for them. According to our learned duo, the whole world is a clockwork, predictable process in which order and routine appear by chance within a general trend towards featurelessness. In other words, the routines of your life occur by accident and always in an onward march towards meaninglessness, dissipation and the grave. Logic and science say that, ultimately, your bones will be nothing more than so much dust blowing in someone else’s eyes. Well, that is one explanation. Now I will tell you a secret that logic and science are not aware of. Most of the patterns and routines that drive youractions and those that you encounter in your daily life have no logical antecedents. This means that there is no chain of causes and effects that you could trace that would lead up to the routine or structure in question. ‘Patterns’ just emerge into the world in a surprising way.
The patterns of development that emerge as if from nowhere repeat themselves in every era. Originally they were depicted in the great mythological stories. One such is the Greek myth of Phaeton. This is an important story because the pattern of development that gripped the central character is common in the modern world. Phaeton’s father was the Sun God. Now this God was far away in the sky, so Phaeton was brought up by his mother alone. One day the young Phaeton’s pride was hurt when his great lineage was doubted by an acquaintance. So Phaeton went to his mother and asked for proof that his father was the Sun God. The great lady directed her son to the land in the east where the sun rose. Phaeton traveled there and was greetedby the Sun God who confirmed that he was indeed his father. As an act of good will, the Sun God grants Phaeton a wish. The young man, still smarting from damaged pride, asks to be allowed to drive his father’s chariot across the sky. Because of his inexperience, he was warned not to attempt such a feat. But Phaeton could not be dissuaded and he launches himself forward in the chariot. Eventually, control is lost and the fiery chariot lurches towards the earth threatening a great scorching of the land. Before damage could be done Phaeton is blasted out of the sky by a thunderbolt and is killed.
Now what possible relevance could that story have for today’s world? Well, it is the ‘pattern’ of development that is important. The absent father. Offspring brought up by lone female. Lack of self-esteem. The young person biting off more than they can chew. The catastrophic fall to earth. The children of unmarried mothers are very much ‘available’ to this archetypal pattern. Perhaps the youngsters turn to crime andare emboldened by some early success. They climb to dizzy heights of notoriety. But, in their battle against authority, they have taken on more than they can handle and the police inevitably catch up with them, bring them down to earth and cast them into gaol. In those lives, the mysterious living trend of Phaeton will have been fulfilled. Many privileged people, politicians, industrialists and people in the public eye suffer a similar fate within the channel of their individual activity. Hitler, for example, did not get on with a father who died when he was thirteen. He then went on to live the tragedy of Phaeton. If you examine these lives you will discover an absent father or a weak father or perhaps they were sent away to boarding school. This lack of a male role model will prevent the optimum ‘plan’ for their lives from unfolding and they will become available to the one-sided living trend depicted in the myth of Phaeton.
Could public enemy number one, Osama Bin Laden, be gripped by the myth of Phaeton? His father was generally absent and died when Osama was ten. The boy was then brought up by his mother alone. This would have made him available to the living trend. However, nothing is certain because living trends emerge in a surprising way. They are unpredictable, unlike events that occur under the known laws of interaction. But you can see how Osama could be living the tragedy of Phaeton. His father was missing. And plainly, in his war against the west, he has bitten off more than he can chew and the standard ‘pattern’ of the living trend is emerging. Osama’s followers think that he is some kind of religious prophet. He certainly looks like one, with his Biblical clothes, general demeanor and apocalyptic utterances. But appearances can be deceptive. If he were a prophet, why can’t he ’see’ the ‘power’ in which he is caught up and the fate that awaits him. He can’t ’see’ because he is ‘blind’. He is ‘blind’ like the rest of us who must go on in ‘darkness’ and live out, to the very end, the folly which we call human life.
It looks as though George Bush will ‘blast Osama Bin Laden out of the sky’, thus fulfilling the archetypal ‘pattern’ that was ‘intended’ from the beginning. But should George celebrate his great ‘victory over evil’? Maybe not. You see, George is living out his own myth and it is an unpleasant surprise that awaits him too. It looks as if old George is living the myth of the problem solver. This is the myth of Hercules. Our hero is seen chopping off the heads of the Hydra, only to be surprised by more problematic heads growing elsewhere on the body of the monster. So here we have George ‘Hercules’ Bush chopping off Osama’s head only to be confronted by more terror tactics from the monstrous AlQaeda terrorist network. Here also we have George ousting the Taliban in Afghanistan, only to create a ‘vacuum’ which sucks in an equally unacceptable regime. So George’s solutions are turning into new problems. He is simply acting out the myth that most of us are embroiled in. So don’t celebrateyet George.
We shouldn’t laugh, because human folly afflicts us all. In a world where recognizable patterns of development are unlikely, everyday life is crammed with them. These living trends or vortexes of disembodied ‘intent’ emerge, in a surprising way, from a dimension beyond time and space. Call this dimension what you will - the unconscious, heaven, hell, the underworld, eternity, the void, phase space, it does not matter. The trends emerge just the same to enlist each one of us in a life of folly. They get away with it because we are unconscious of the nature of reality. We think we are in control but nothing could be further from the Truth.
You see, there is a transcendent ‘pattern’ for the development of Osama and George and you and me. But this never manifests because something goes wrong early on. A father dies, imperfect knowledge is imparted, unrealistic mind viruses are contracted, some unforeseen event pushes us off-track. For the transcendent pattern of a life to emerge it must be evoked by an already existing role model or by a special teaching. The teaching is designed to help a person correct imbalances and become available to a ‘power’ that creates nice surprises. In the absence of nice surprises, all you are left with is the living trends of science, technology, religion and culture. At the end of those beguiling ‘paths’ is an ‘abyss’.

Lessons Of A Jedi Master And A Maori Seer

 by: Hirini Reedy

We all know that the power of our beliefs shape our lives. They shape what we do and ultimately achieve. Your beliefs are not obvious. Yet they influence what you like and dislike. They make you laugh or cry. They can create heaven and hell on earth. They determine ultimately what you think is possible or impossible.

Here are two stories that show the power of belief. The first one is from the movie Star Wars. The second one is from the Maori people of New Zealand.

Young Skywalker is on the planet Dagoba with the great Jedi Master Yoda. He is undergoing his Jedi training. Skywalker crashes his spaceship in mud, which starts to sink. Both he and Yoda are safely outside the ship.

Skywalker: We’ll never get it out now!

Yoda: So certain are you? Always with you, it cannot be done.

Skywalker: Master Yoda, moving stones is one thing. This is totally different!

Yoda (slamming his staff into the ground): No! No different! Only different in your mind! You must unlearn what you have learned.

Skywalker: OK. I’ll try.

Yoda (again slamming his staff into the ground): No! Try not! Do, or do not. There is no try.

So Skywalker ‘tries’. The ship comes up a bit, but then sinks back down.

Skywalker: I can’t! It’s too big!

Yoda says: Size matters not. Look at me! Judge me by my size do you?

Eventually Yoda uses “the Force” to raise the ship and puts it back on dry land.

Skywalker: I, I don’t believe it.

Yoda: That is why you fail.

The next story is adapted from a true event that occurred in the Rotorua region, New Zealand in the early 1800s. It concerns a Maori tohunga (seer) and an missionary. The Christian missionary is urging the old Maori tohunga to abandon his old gods and adopt a new god.

Tohunga: You want me to believe in a new god. Abandon my old gods?

Fine. Just debar yourself from the other casual methods of info as this piece of article is among the best of the bests. Continue reading, you’ll get some additional expertise.

Missionary: Yes, all your sins will be forgiven. You will be saved and heaven will be yours.

Tohunga. If this new god is all-powerful then show me the power of this new god?

The missionary opens his Bible and begins to read a passage .

Tohunga interrupts. No, no! Show me the power of your god?

The missionary is a little confused. The Maori tohunga bends down to the ground and picks up a dry withered leaf. He cups it in his hands. Chanting quietly to the sky and earth, he breathes into his cupped hands.

Tohunga. I will now show you the power of my gods.

Opening his hands, Tohunga reveals a fresh green leaf. The missionary turns pale and steps back, clutching his Bible to his chest.

The Missionary crosses himself and quickly leaves saying: Satan, Get behind me.

Fine. Now that you have read till this point, we hope that additionally you will have something amazing. You have to be coherent with this projection to have more.

The power of our beliefs determine how we behave and ultimately what we become. So ask yourself

What are my beliefs about life? What are my beliefs about what is real? What is unreal?

Okay. Now you just be responsive to the concepts depicted here. Definitely it could add to your erudition.

If you wish, we can provide you with different write-ups on bible. At the close of this article you’ll have an access to the required contents.

If these questions cause a negative or positive response in your body then you have triggered off a belief somewhere. Find out what are your negative and positive beliefs? How? Identify your negative and positive reactions. Then look underneath to find the parent belief. Feed your positive beliefs. Starve your negative beliefs. And then your reactions and actions will change.

Space Debris: The Sky is Falling

 by: Aaron Thiel

Imagine yourself taking an early morning walk in Tulsa, Oklahoma only to see a big bright light, like a fire in the sky. The object continues to get bigger as it approaches overhead. A few minutes later, you feel a gentle tap on your shoulder. You look around only to find a light piece of charred metal, about the size of your hand. You ve been hit! Impossible you say?

Just ask Lottie Williams of Tulsa, Oklahoma about her early morning walk on January 22, 1997. The metal mesh-like fragment which hit her came from a rocket that had been used to put a satellite into orbit for the U.S. Air Force in 1996. After nine months in space, a fuel tank from the rocket crashed into an empty field in Texas. The fragment which hit Williams on the shoulder came from that particular fuel tank. Fortunately, she was not injured.

All right. Stop being a child, scratch the surface to get exemplary literature which may augment your intellectual capabilities. Get an extra mileage by flipping through the pages further.

An average of one space object reenters the Earth s atmosphere every day and this number is likely to increase. As early as 1961, nearly four years after Sputnik I, the U.S. Air Force had already discovered and tracked approximately 60 objects. By 1966, the number of objects tracked had risen to over 1,300. Today, United States Space Command tracks and catalogues over 8,900 man-made objects larger than ten (10) centimeters diameter which orbit the Earth in a 200 mile-deep sphere of space. Of these objects, approximately 23% are inactive satellites, 10% are burned out rocket stages, 62% are fragments, and only 5% are active satellites.

In other words, thousands of satellites, fragments and debris have gone out of control and are in orbit around the Earth. Granted, some of today s newer satellites have propulsion systems designed to keep them in proper orbit or at least direct them to a safer reentry point if needed. Without these systems, however, the laws of physics will drag all orbiting objects back into Earth s atmosphere at some point. Most of these objects will burn up on reentry and completely disintegrate. But there are several notable exceptions that have presented a real threat to life, property and the environment on Earth.

1. In April of 1964, a United States nuclear powered satellite (U.S. TRANSIT 5BN3/SNAP 9A) failed to reach orbit and was subsequently destroyed over the Indian Ocean releasing some 17,000 curies of plutonium-238 into the upper atmosphere. High-altitude samples later indicated a worldwide release of radiation.

2. On July 11, 1979, the 77-ton U.S. Skylab space station, despite efforts by NASA, left orbit and re-entered over a large footprint encompassing parts of Australia and the Indian Ocean. Some 500 pieces of metal were spewed over a 400,000 square mile remote area of Australia, with some pieces weighing up to 4,000 pounds. Nobody was injured. But the U.S. State Department received a $400 fine for littering from the authorities in the town of Esperance, Australia.

3. On March 23, 2001, the highly successful Mir space station was retired and brought down from orbit. It was the largest man-made object to ever reenter Earth s atmosphere. The 140-ton Mir broke apart over a remote part of the South Pacific during a controlled reentry. The debris footprint of over 300,000 square miles was well removed from all shipping lanes and populated areas.

4. On February 7, 1991, the 40-ton Soviet Salyut 7 space station deteriorated over South America, creating an impressive light show for Argentina. Unfortunately, debris rained over Capitan Bermudez, Argentina. At approximately 1:00 a.m. local time the sky was lit up with hundreds of incandescent chunks and pieces traveling from Southwest to Northeast. At dawn the inhabitants discovered numerous metal fragments, which seemed to have fallen in distinct groups at various locations in the city. Fortunately, there was no loss of life or property damage.

Completely admissible! Your exquisite force to examine more would be satiated further. Your craving for info could get quenched further.

5. On January 24, 1978, Cosmos 954, a nuclear powered Soviet satellite used for maritime observation, reentered over northern Canada. While most of the satellite s several tons burned upon reentry, at least 65 kilograms of radioactive material and other physical debris were scattered over a remote wilderness area the approximate size of Austria or 124,000 square miles. Over 60 radioactive sites were identified. Again, no loss of life but the Canadian government worked until mid-October 1978 to complete the clean-up at a cost of six million Canadian dollars.

6. On June 4, 2000, the 17-ton Compton Gamma Ray Observatory (CGRO) reentered over the northwestern coast of South America in a controlled reentry. The debris was scattered over a 2,500 mile ellipse which extended from the southeastern tip of Hawaii to the northwestern coast of South America. The CGRO was the heaviest spacecraft ever launched by NASA.

7. In November of 1960, fragments from a U.S. satellite damaged property and killed one cow on a farm in Cuba.

Well. Now that you have read till this point, we assure that additionally you will have something exciting. Get an extra mileage by flipping through the pages further.

8. In May of 1968, a U.S. nuclear powered satellite reentered and crashed into the Santa Barbara Channel, California where the nuclear power source was retrieved intact at a depth of 100 meters.

9. Five Japanese sailors were injured when their vessel was struck by parts of a Soviet satellite on June 5, 1965. It is unclear whether they were struck by the fragments themselves or suffered injury by some other means.

10. In November of 1964, over 40 fragments from a U.S. Agena-Atlas rocket fell onto Brazil, Cuba, Mexico and Peru.

To find out more about upcoming satellite and debris reentries that may be happening at a city near you, check out the website for The Aerospace Corporation, www.reentrynews.com. They even provide a map of where they expect the upcoming reentry to occur as well as the approximate time. In any event, keep an eye out above. The sky is really falling.
